whatever it takes

Taking some time NOW to enjoy these two whenever I can! Hanging out in the tower on their new “park”.

One of many harvester’s mottos is, “Whatever It Takes”. The addition to our fleet could be the definition of this motto for the Z Crew for harvest 2017! I think after last summer with just the two of us loading and unloading the miscellaneous necessities from the back of Frank and my level of frustration with the whole process may have played into the reason we now have a longer car trailer. AND a new storage area for the miscellaneous stuff. THANK GOODNESS!

With each harvest, another year has been added to these old and getting older bones! Without the girls to help with the loading and unloading, it was a little tougher on just the two of us. I never thought he’d actually do something different but when he suggested purchasing the new trailer and his idea included the storage box, I was all in!!

Shelves needed built. Jim thought it should take about a week to finish but more likely two by the time it was completed. He was right – it was closer to two weeks (thanks to the weather).

Jim was telling me what still needed to be done before it was time to start the loading process. I am impressed! But I know Jim and whenever he does something, he does it right and it always looks good!

And once this unit is loaded…it won’t have to be unloaded. My head, arms and back will be forever grateful for this change! The area behind the storage box will be where one of the pickups will be hauled on moving days. Some may view this as being silly but in my eyes, it’s the best update we could have ever done for our operation! When it’s just the two of you, you can’t chance having one of us under the weather; therefore, whatever it takes!

More time with the family…Jenna and I watched Eli “play” soccer on Saturday morning. Jen came prepared and it simply made Eli’s day!

Lookin pretty serious about what he’s supposed to be doing.

There is now a deadline in place for the times I’ll get to be involved with the kids and I’m not liking the thought of leaving. Another “whatever it takes”. The sacrifices we make are real and real hard on my heart! So, I will take advantage of being where I can with them and hope I’m not being a pain in the butt! In about a month, I will be really missing my time with everyone!

Princess Ora enjoying her new swingset. “Go faster, Gwamma, go faster”! Oh boy…

Super !! That new setup is the ticket ,mint job Jim , Organization is 90% of the battle . Since you have The Beast, The Cottage & Frank . I betcha Tracy you’ll have a name for the it . We are envious of the greenery you have , Watching the weather forecast tonight ,this will be the first time since 2007 that the Calgary area will not hit 20C /70F. in April snow & rain the rest of the week. The only thing green around here is the chives in the garden & John Deere equipment !!! Ora Love it !! Soccer is a big thing for little guys here too ,plus it’s not pricey like hockey.

I’ve been trying to think of a name. I’m certain it will come as we use it. I guess the only thing that would keep me living in the northern country would be roots and family. So, I’m guessing that’s why you’re still there. 🙂

Yes, your rite Tracy, the crew at the Golf Course were whining about the weather.I said look we don’t get hurricanes, no big time twisters, no earth quakes, no massive mud slides, so some cold & snow is easy to take. Yes we live at 3900ft asl. plus on eastern slopes of the rockies . It’s just a late spring here.

Kids are looking great…growing way too fast! Your new trailer and storage box will be a big help…bones and muscles get tired quicker each year! Enjoy your little ones before harvest travels start.

Thanks, Margaret! Yes, they just keep growing and so is their family. New one on the way – due to be here the middle of JULY. I really am excited about having that storage unit!!

Kudos on the new trailer and storage unit is the storage unit from a moving van truck? How will it be mounted to the trailer? Great secure space.

Well, I’m not sure what it’s previous life was. 🙂 Jim secured it down with quite a few large screws – I think.
