Taylor was destined to receive the honor!
Grandma used to talk about “Red Letter” Days. These are the days that really stand out above and beyond the rest and are usually few and far between. When a Red Letter Day occurs, you NEVER want it to be over. Taylor was able to experience one of these – actually a Red Letter Weekend!
After dealing with a tremendous amount of huge butterflies in her stomach prior to half time of the football game, she found out her peers voted her the 2012 E-M Homecoming Queen. I was so surprised and happy for her! She was convinced she probably wouldn’t win and was extremely happy to have just been nominated as part of the Homecoming Court.
I can’t take credit for this lovely picture (thanks Dawn) but I wanted to use it because she captured Taylor’s personality perfectly!
As a young woman, who doesn’t want to be voted Homecoming Queen? I can still remember who my senior class voted as our Homecoming King and Queen. For our family, this is the third Zeorian nominated by their peers to represent their school’s Homecoming Royalty Court. Jamie was nominated in 2003/2004 and Jenna was nominated in 2005/2006. The year Jamie was to stand up as one of the chosen, she had to bow out for her bestest harvest friend’s wedding. She was Maid of Honor. Jenna was able to stand up with the rest of the Royalty on the ball field and accept her crown and roses. And now…Taylor. I’m pretty proud to say I’m the mom! Congratulations, Taylor! It was definitely YOUR weekend to shine!

Taylor’s last Homecoming dance and Callie’s first.
No dates for either girl so they took turns putting on each other’s corsage. 🙂
Yes, she really did wear her tiara in McDonald’s – and Walmart!
The weekend brought one more “Red Letter” Day memory. Jamie and Curt made it official:
How exciting for all of you!!! Ladies—-you looked absolutely gorgeous!!!! Your Dad should “pay you” to keep him.HA He`s one lucky man—-will remind him the next time I see him. Being “Grandparents” is one of God`s greatest gifts—-know you will enjoy tremendously!!! Blessings, Ross & Judeen
Thanks, Judeen! I’m looking forward to holding a baby again. 🙂 Mine are growing up WAY too fast!
WOW what an honor and tradition in your family! Definitely a Red Letter Weekend. Congrats on the baby news also.

I know, right? I’d say this family has been more than blessed! The baby news certainly puts me in a completely different section of the “circle of life”. One that I really thought would take much longer to get to when you’re living life. I can only hope I’m as good of a gma as mine was to me. 🙂 Thanks for your note, Katie!
