I should have more pictures to share but I don’t. But what I do have is a video that Taylor put together for the All Aboard Wheat Harvest. She and Jim had an uneventful trip (a good thing) to Shattuck, OK and back again.
Tonight, the thought of leaving is pulling on the ‘ole heart strings! We’re TRYING to get out of the house tomorrow – sometime. It’s such a struggle getting everything you’ll need to be away for 100+ days. Trying to remember everything and hoping what you’ve forgotten will be easy enough to purchase down the road. I’ve worked pretty steady for the past two days. Tomorrow will be spent pulling the loose ends together and walking through each room one last time.
Tonight, though, we had everyone here for the evening and had supper together. So easy to forget that things will be different after tomorrow. I will miss my little guy! He’ll be nearly 6 months old by the time we get back this fall. And, when I look out my kitchen window this fall, I won’t see Dorothy mowing her yard or tending to her flowers. It just won’t be right. Change…always hard to make the “new normal” feel comfortable again.
Jenna won’t be here when we get back in September. Her new job will have her out and about with farm shows until the end of October. A crazy whirlwind of events in store for her the next several months. Yep, the winds of change are blowing pretty darn strong right now. Tomorrow (sometime) will be the beginning of 2013 wheat harvest for the Z Crew. What it has in store for us will be worth stopping back here for, I’m sure! Prayers are welcome! 🙂
